My poem “Juanita” has been included in the anthology Other Countries: Contemporary Poets Rewiring History, edited by Claire Trévian and Gareth Prior. I am truly honored to have a poem featured in this important collection alongside so many talented writers.
Unsplendid has published my poem “Salt Myth” in their Women and Form issue, and you can even hear me read it aloud on their site. This poem is a progressive sestina in which the end words evolve from stanza to stanza much as they would in a game of telephone.
My poem “Juanita” has won the San Miguel Writers’ Conference Poetry Contest! This award includes a full fellowship to attend the 2013 San Miguel Writers’ Conference in February. Thank you to the judges for sharing my Juanita with the world and providing me with the opportunity to grow as a writer. ¡Muchas gracias!
